Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Besides the hardware and connectivity, PaaS also has database management systems, development tools, middleware and operating systems necessary for building software solutions.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
SaaS is the cloud service that most people are familiar with. Essentially, users access and use a software solution managed by the cloud service provider. The service is often provided on a subscription basis through the internet.
The host provides all middleware, operating systems and computer assets necessary for running the software applications. Since most of these services are often capable of being run on browsers, there is no need to install and run an application natively.
